Two become one!
One big MESS when those two people both own large homes.
That is exactly the situation Leanne and Martin found themselves in after they wed. After living in one or both of the homes, they decided to downsize into a condo that they could call their own. I was presented the opportunity to create a space that reflected their personality. Having much less square footage to work with my ingenuity paid off in two grand storage solutions.
The banquette in their kitchen disguises SEVENTEEN FEET of storage. A flip top is hidden under the cushion. The space works wonderfully for storing blankets, seasonal decorations and and large serving dishes. It has been shared with me that the banquette has also been used for the occasional Sunday afternoon catnap. Bonus!
The next piece I designed is more conspicuous! A NINETEEN FOOT built-in lacquered console greets the owners and guests as they enter the condo. The console had to be built in three pieces to fit in the freight elevator. Talk about storage!! There is a roll-out specifically for the wireless printer, drawers for light bulbs, batteries, linens and all sorts of odds and ends Leanne has collected.
Storage does not have to be the traditional closet. As you can see, storage can take the shape of a banquette or a built-in console. What storage solutions can I design for you?
